Captain George Olsen USN
World War 2 veteran Captain George Olsen at the MCAS Cherry Point Library reminisces about his time aboard the USS Mississippi and the bombardment of the Island, Kamikaze attacks, and the post battle Typhoon. The 16 inch shrapnel was found at the impact area of Wana ridge were the Mississippi supported the "Old Breed" 1st Marines.
